Welcome to Michael Walsh Counselling

Are you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or struggling to make sense of things? Perhaps you're dealing with anxiety that won't let go, relationships that feel complicated, or emotions that seem too difficult to manage alone, or simply feeling that something isn't quite right. Whatever brings you here, taking this step shows courage, and you don't have to face these challenges alone.

How I Can Help

I'm Michael Walsh, a qualified BACP psychodynamic counsellor based in Ascot, offering both face-to-face and online counselling sessions. I provide a warm, non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever's troubling you.

Whether you're looking for short-term support or longer-term personal development, I work with adult individuals, in person, online or on the telephone, helping with issues ranging from anxiety and depression to relationship difficulties, work-related stress, and personal growth. My practice offers a confidential and peaceful environment.

Your Counselling Journey

Counselling provides a unique space where you can speak openly about your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgement. It's not about being told what to do, but rather about exploring your experiences together and finding your own path forward. Through our sessions, you might discover new perspectives on long-standing patterns, understand yourself better, and develop more fulfilling ways of living and relating to others.

Understanding and Growth

The counselling process helps you gain deeper insights into your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. By exploring your past experiences and current challenges, you can begin to understand how early relationships and experiences might influence your present life. This understanding often brings relief, as patterns become clearer and new possibilities emerge. My approach combines empathetic listening with gentle exploration, helping you move towards positive change at your own pace.

Areas We Can Explore

Life presents many challenges that counselling can help with. These might include anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, work-related stress, loss and bereavement, self-esteem issues, or feelings of emptiness and disconnection. You might be facing a specific crisis or dealing with more general feelings of dissatisfaction. Together, we can work through whatever you're experiencing, helping you find greater clarity, emotional balance, and a more authentic way of living.

Location

My practice is based in a quiet residential area of Ascot, Berkshire, easily accessible from Windsor, Bracknell, Reading, Slough, Maidenhead, Wokingham, Farnborough, and Camberley. The therapy room is separate from the main house, offering complete privacy and confidentiality.

There's dedicated off-street parking available for clients, and we're within walking distance of Ascot railway station. If you're considering online or telephone counselling, I work with clients from across the UK, making location less of a concern.

I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation. It is an opportunity for you to tell me a little bit about what is going on for you at the moment and for me to let you know something about me. This is followed by an initial session, with the aim being to see if it might feel helpful for us to move forward together.

The best way to get started is to email me or use the contact form. I aim to respond to all enquiries within 24 hours during working days.
